The 11-12 Year old All Stars won the District 13 championship with a convincing win against a talented Wakefield National team. Wakefield handed the boys their only loss of pool play just a week prior by a score of 13-1. The stage was set for a dramatic rematch last Sunday night at Woburn's Weafer Park. The Stoneham boys came out with fire scoring 9 runs in the first inning. The game settled in for the next several innings. Wakefield made some noise in the 3rd with some strong hitting, but this Stoneham team would not be denied. There were strong defensive plays made on both teams. The game ended in dramatic fashion. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the 6th and one run already across for Wakefield, a tough fly ball was hit between left and center field. The 2 outfielders collided but held on to the ball for the final out and the victory. This is Stoneham Little League's 3rd consecutive District 13 title for the Major League. Congratulations to the Coaches and players. Sectional play starts this Thursday at Woburn's Weafer Park. Please support the boys as they continue on this exciting run.
