The Stoneham Little League 2010 Raffle Ticket Fundraiser is underway. Please read the following letter from our Fundraising Director, Bill Leavitt, which describes this years event.
Dear Players, Parents, and Friends,
The registration fee for Stoneham Little League covers merely a fraction of the cost to run our league. In order to raise enough revenue to pay for everything that is necessary to get our almost 700 Stoneham Little League players on the field playing baseball, it is vital that our fundraising and sponsorship programs are both a success.
For the 2010 season, we have decided our method of fundraising will be, once again, the raffle tickets. By now, the managers of each division should have distributed one booklet of 5 tickets to each player on his/her team. Each ticket is to be sold for $5.00 and the buyer’s contact information filled out on the ticket stub. Once sold, the ticket stubs and money should be returned to the team manager. We encourage all teams to recruit a team parent to assist in collecting sold raffle tickets and to help the manger and coaches with other needed tasks. Our goal is for each player to sell a minimum of 5 tickets ($25.00 worth).
During the course of the season, there will be 5 weekly drawings of $200.00 beginning on Saturday, May 29th plus three cash drawings on, June 19th, “Championship Saturday” of $200, $300 and $500.
In the spirit of competition, we encourage each player to sell as many tickets as possible and as incentive the league will reward the top ticket seller of each division(T-ball, Farm, Rookie, Minor, Major and Juniors Leagues) an age appropriate prize, plus the overall top ticket seller of the entire league will be awarded a grand prize!
Once a player turns in his first five sold stubs and money, he or she may acquire additional tickets from their managers. Managers, you can get additional tickets from your respective league directors.
The other major method of raising funds for our league is through team sponsorships. We are still in need of either individuals or businesses generous enough to sponsor one of our 53 teams. If you are interested in sponsoring a Stoneham Little League team, please contact Mr. Mike Abbott, Sponsorship Director by email at mabbott@stonehambaseball.com for details or go to www.stonehambaseball.com, print a sponsorship form which can be filled out and mailed along with your check for $250 to Stoneham Little League, PO Box 80312, Stoneham, MA 02180.
It is vital that both of these revenue earning programs are financially successful. Please do your part to help us reach our mutual goal. On behalf of the Stoneham Little League Board of Directors, I want to thank you all in advance for your cooperation in this effort.
Very truly yours,
Bill Leavitt
